Salutations All!
I too get a GREAT deal of SPAM, not all of it, however, is pertaining to 2 Way. I recieve, on average, at least 2-3 SPAM Emails per day. Is there anything I can do about this? I've contacted MSn and have downloaded a detector they said would block out the SPAM emails, yet I still recieve them!
Any ideas?
Julian

First thing I would do Julian is to take out your email address from your signature, there is a link on everybody's name that will allow them to email you, and it the company is just having people read pages for email addresses, yours as it is is the open for them. For everybody, other than guarding your email address and carefully reading all privacy and disclosure statements on websites before giving them your email, your email address is free to send to. Most websites will say that their list is for sale, and will automatically sell your email no matter what.

There are programs called 'Bots that can be set to scour thousands of website forums, looking for certain keywords, and automatically picking up any links or written e-mail addresses, thus putting you on their lists. Welcome to the Web. Scary, isn't it? Always a good idea to use a generic address (hotmail, yahoo, etc) and NOT have your real name in the address, if you do decide to post it. Many other forums I've seen (some a little shady, admittedly) will fudge a couple of letters if they're posting a link (hxxp://www.batlabs.com) for instance, or write their e-mail address like 'wavetar"at"batlabs.com' so it won't get picked up.

Just put your email address into your profile on batlabs like you have your AOLIM info, then if someone wants to reach you after seeing a post from you, all they'll have to do is click the button at the bottom of the post.

Yahoo does a good job at deciding what's spam and what isn't and stashing suspected spam into a folder named Bulk Mail. So far it's done a very good job at sorting out the garbage. Downside is that if you download your email through Yahoo's POP server, it just shows up in your inbox.

Yeah, I run my own server, so I don't have some of the filtering that yahoo, etc has... I work in the IT field, so I have a pretty good understanding. My question was more of are they getting my e-mail from the 1-2 postings i've made here, and are they grabbing other's addresses...

That's all  I appreciate all the input though.

I got some from Tessco the day that someone posted about it here. It probably was one of those sneaky POS spam servers.

Anyone getting bombarded by German porn sites? Can't figure out how I'm getting that stuff unless I pissed someone off here....

The only two sites I visit regularly are this one and intellicast.com.

So, what you are saying is that you must be visiting the German porn sites irregularly?? (:
