I was fiddling around with my CPS (v6.01) this afternoon, trying to figure out what all was needed to attach a tone remote (4wire) to a CDM1550 and I came across something that I thought was quite interesting. If you open a CDM series codeplug, go to radio configuration, then click on the option board tab and right click on top of the "option board type" caption and select "what's this?" you naturally open the help screen. If you click on the "See More Information" at the bottom of the screen you get some brief descriptions of the various option boards... at the bottom of this screen is a "Note" which makes refrence to "Multi-Line display radios", if you click on "multi-line display" it takes you to another screen with a line drawing of what appears to be a HT1550 and an unidentified mobile. The mobile looks similar to a CDM1550 except it has a numeric keypad on the right hand side, a larger display, and a mic with several extra buttons on it's face. Does anyone have any information on this mobile or an expected release date for it? Looks pretty slick. The "Note" also makes mention of it already having the voice storage built in so it sounds like it may be the mobile counterpart to the Ht1550.

I had seen a posting on this group about that a few months ago. From what I remember it is an international version. I think it was a GM280??? but i wouldnt swear by it. I'd love to get my hands on one!

That radio is marketed overseas as Alex said as the GM380, GM399 and some other combination. I have yet to see one that does MDC though. I do see, however, reference in the RSS of the multi-line display mobiles that can encode MDC inhibit, and remote monitor. For the longest time, I thought these advanced Stat-Alert encode functions were restricted to expensive MDC modems and console based MDC encoder systems. I guess I was wrong, but to be honest with you, I really don't see Motorola selling mobile radios in the US that can take down an entire system.
