1998 Monte Carlo Install Question

1998 Monte Carlo Install Question

Anyone ever work with one of the beasts before? Need advice on routing power, control wires, and best place to mount stuff.

Never done a "G body" before, but what I can tell you is that the upper control arms are often exposed on these cars because of the weather flaps falling off. Make sure you keep your power cable clear from this area. I witnessed one burn up from a stereo system that was installed and the #2 cable fell on the control arm and got sawed through by the control arm's motion. Ouch!

They are for the most part 2 door Luminas, I did alot of those for the US marshalls. The battery is buried under the overflow tank. We used to take power off the post from the underhood fuse panel. The firewall hole was behind the brake booster. It is TIGHT quarters for running anything.

Oooops! I mis-read that one. I though it said "1988."

FFParamedic is correct: they are essentially a 2 door Lumina "W" bodied car.
