I'm going to try to reprogram my HT-50 into the 2 meter ham band.

The radio is on 154.995 simplex. Should I bother taking it into "ye olde friendly radio shoppe" and get the insides re-aligned into the 2 meter ham band? Or is it a waste of cash?

Any advice?

Don't bother, you'll spend more than the radio is worth. It will work fine.

If you have a problem, let us know.
HT50 RSS uses a SLOOOOOOW computer, FYI.
There is two modifications for frequency drift and low battery operation for HT50/P100 radios.
