Extra channels on MCS2000 model 1

Post by chrisryan99uk »

Hi I have here a MCS2000 model 1, model M01KHL9PW4AN.
I know that they are 48 mode radio's but have seen various references to 150 modes being available as an option.
Is there a way to enable more than 48 modes (hack or forcing in a codeplug etc).
Or is it a pay 'M' big £'s .
Also can model 1 MCS's be toolproofed? the firmware version is 5.30
Anyone any ideas?

Regards
Chris.

It's a flashport upgrade to go from 48 to 150 modes.
Requires, among other things, a hardware key and a SmartRib.

If you figure out a way to do it, please share. I've got a few that I'd like to bump up.

Forcing in a 150-mode capable codeplug will do what you want. There is no toolproofing issue with the MCS2000.

How do you 'force' a 150 mode CP into a 48 mode model?
Is there a MCS LAB req'd?

Doesnt it do the job for just about any Motorola radio that uses S-records?

I have a 900 mhz Model one, will the same method give me the 150 modes, or has anybody else tried this?

If you can find a 900MHz codeplug with 160 modes, then it will work.

This leads to another related question. Can the Mod2's and 3's hold more than 160 modes? If the MTS can do 250, why not the MCS?

They can have 250 modes, the option is H260. Look for a flash that starts with a 2.

I have a few 900 MIII's with 250 modes, one is factory, the other was a M1 that was force feed the s-record. The control head on the hacked one came off of a iDEN LM2000
