Anyone with Durango light install experience?
A buddy of mine would like to install grille lights, rear window lights etc in his 2001-2002ish dodge durango. A quick look over looks like its going to be a pain in the ass. Any tips/suggestions? We are looking at strobe, but I may have to do LED, but all blue will be $$$$.
Lowband radio. The original and non-complicated wide area interoperable communications system

There is room inthe grille for the cheapo Able 2 micro strobes.
There is plenty of room for all hideaway strobes.
The power supplies, wigwags, junction blocks all fit really well in the hidden compartment in the floor right inside of the liftgate.
Rear window lights- Mount to the inside of the liftgate and route the cables in the OEM boot which carries the factory liftgate wiring from the liftgate into the headliner area. This will make the install look OEM and the cables will last forever.
For switches, you can fabricate a panel that inserts into the ashtray. Use micro switches. I use an RJ45 jack on this small panel. Another RJ45 in the rear near the power supplies and flashers/relays will allow you to use a simple CAT-5 jumper between the ashtray and the electrical center. You'll have 6 switched channels (one as B+, one as GND) using the CAT-5 8 wire method. The panel can have LED indicators on each micro switch.
You'll be sure to "oooh and aaah" the wackers with this.
Besides....you won't see the switches until you open the ashtray. If he's a smoker, tell him that now's the time to quit.

Be sur to not put the wrong wig wags on I do install for the state of north Carolina and the use tahos and Darangos the Dodge is weird when it comes to wig wags it messes with the computer and the ABS light come on when you first activate th e wig wags and the strobe have to be placed carfuly if you put them in the side marker spot it may melt the lens the Darango is my worst vehical to do I hate them with a pasion... but it just take time .....It can be done check my web site there should be some pics on there of a Darango...www.8541electronics.com ps JoE
