1997 Suburban stearing colum harness layout? (Horn ring)

Post by Pj »

From a previous post, Jim states that the horn ring is the black wire. However, with a multitude of wires and harness, does anyone know exactly which one it is, and have a pic or drawing that they wouldn't mind emailing or posting?

Knowing my luck I'll ground the wrong one and set the air bag off

Thanks!

Yep, pretty ambiguous (sp?)...

Black (ground) Steering Column

When in doubt, grab it from the actual horn area and route your control wire back to the control head. Horn ring is generally 18-16 g since its normally only a relay trigger. It probably won't hurt you the extra 2 bucks in wire to run it back...
