That is fairly typical.

On the CDMs, the volume pot does not actually control the audio level, but rather serves as an input value for the microprocessor that controls the actual audio volume.

Acually What version control head is it.. On the bottom of the head please tell me what the last letter is if it is a (A) it is old and has been fixed by (B)
