Airhorn tonal "issues"...UPDATE: What Speaker wou
Alright, I have a Whelen Airhorn/PA mounted in a vehicle. Recently the airhorn likes to change its tone from the normal loud deep bass sound, to a high pitched horn...and other times an extremely low pitched sound. I cannot get the problem to re-occur when I am messing around diagnostically. Also, nothing at all seems to cause the problem such as legnth of drive time, voltage input, weather, temp, etc. The Cone on the speaker is tightened down, and no nothing is shoved in in/living in it.
Anyone have a reccomendation?

Speaker sounds like it's about to go Tango Uniform. It is also possible that there is a loose connection, but my guess would be siren speaker. I've had them make funny siren noises for a little while and then zzzzpppt! That's the end of them. Of course, they were all Gall's speakers, and now I have a CPI one and it's worked for nearly two years with no problems now.

Alright...what's a good replacement speaker?
HAHAHA...it is a gall's speaker
Guess saving a few bucks scrapes a few years of use off the item!
What do people reccomend for a replacement speaker?
Currently the speaker is mounted under/recessed under my bumper. However it's not mounted in a way that it is "Speaker size specific".
I also will probably be looking to pick this item up for used if I can...so any tips for that would help too!

I've a whelen amp driving a CPI speaker... the 'under the bumper' type for an SUV in my Trailblazer...about bullet proof. Buddy of mine has an SA314 in his Avalanche with the vehicle-specific bracket and it seems just as loud. His was the plastic one. CPI makes most of the ambulance speakers as far as I've seen...
