Uhh Ohh.. MTSX Keypad Programming

Post by Mrbmw99 »

Hi! I posted a topic in the general forum about converting my MTX8000 to an MTS2000 by dropping a MTS CP into it. I did this all today and it seems to work with one exception. I have the radio on, and I can use my arrow keys to access the menu, and the home key to make the menu go away. The problem is this: my 1, 2, and 3 buttons are doing the EXACT same functions as the <, HOME, and >, respectively. I cannot select a menu item at all. Also, there are no beeps when I press a button, it's always silent, but when I use the original CP that I have (MTX), it all works fine... Ideas as to why this happens? Thanks! -BW

From the serial, it looks nothing like what one would normally see in a B7 radio. If you did this correctly, this serial number was not originally in the Cp, but one that was "consentual sexed, raped and whore sounds too violent." into it.
The breakdown in the model specific info would answer some more of your questions. Thats where I first looked just to learn all of the in's and out's of the capabilities of the radio and what process would have to be done to allow it to work as a B7 from just a B3.

If the lights are out when you leave the station and then come on the second you key up, you know you have enough power.

Hi Chart! I couldn't stop laughing for a minute there! I like it: "consentual sexed, raped and whore sounds too violent.".... LOL ANYWAYS, no, my radio hardware is that of an MTX8000 B7, not a B3. The actual model number on the tags of my radio are: H01UCH6DB7AN. I want to put a MTS2000 CP into it - and I had one sent to me. This CP that was sent to me has the model number H01UCH6XC9AN, and I'm getting a little confused. I have NEVER seen one like this, but it did in fact load and give me some MTS features like the TX inhibit switch etc. Any suggestions on correcting this button issue?

If anyone else has an MTS2000 codeplug that I can try I'd appriciate it if you would send it on to me. Thanks!

Your mobel number listed is not for a MTS2000...I've got no idea what that model number is for, but it's not a MTS2000.

An appropriate MTS2000 model number is: H01UCx6PW1xN

Thats what I thought.. I ALWAYS have seen the PW1BN ending for the MTS's... but who knows...

CP anyone?

If anyone would like a copy of this CP as I got it, see the thread I made about The Codeplug Supersite in the General fourm. http://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.php?t=36965 You can find the CP by following the model, MTS2000, the band, 800, and there it is. Add more CP's if you have them!

What you do is change it from menu and all keys to menu and number keys and it works great....
