I am prolly going to install some type of console or build one that sits somewhere in there, preferebly between the seats. i want to install in it
Console:
1 BC796D
2 BC780 XLT
1 two way uhf radio running at probable 45-50 watts.
It will also have hideawaystrobes in the backup lights and in the tailights for the rear and in thr cornering lights for the front.
and it will ahve a charger for a portable or 2 in there somewhere. (is there a charger for a radio that you can leave the radio in all the time or that will stop charging the radio once it is charged so you dont have to take it out.
Basically what i am asking is where can i get the power form? what type of antennas? ( not drilling holes yet ) and any othere creative answers/idea? and does anyone have any pics of trailblazer installs? thanks.

Mounting 3 Mag Mounts on my 03 TB .. I routed the cables down the front thru the rubber moulding as it went around the door frame .. . and then in thru the door area up under the dash .. later I may go ahead and drill the holes .. but for now it works well ..
And 2 of the radios (both lightweight and small - a Kenwood TK-760 and a Bearcat Scanner) are mounted on the knee panel underdash on either side of the steering column .. when you take the knee panel down .. you will find a trough for the cables...
Ted...

We have a few Trailblazers as patrol trucks. For CH installs for siren & Mot inmount, they absolutely stink. The center shifter plays havoc with our stuff, and we haven't found a compromise that works. I looked and didn't find any consoles prefabbed for the truck, so we were left with a ghetto rig, that is borderline workable.
If anyone has any free/cheap ideas on how to mount a siren/lightbar CH, along with Motorola (can't remember model #) and 2 8 mode button rows (or whatever they're called), please let me know. This has haunted us since management made a poor purchasing decision.
BTW, these are law enforcement patrol vehicles, with 2 people riding often times (which really complicates this install). Must be professional looking (at least somewhat), and sturdy.

I think that was one of my suggestions now that I revisit the idea. The console is kind of flimsy if you start to take it apart (and had to to make everything fit), but I would have worked with a little reinforcing. The only problem I remember was that some of the items would have stretched the console a lot, possibly breaking it. It would have been a tight fit at best.
I think the other problem is they didn't want equipment mounted behind the officer where they would have to almost turn around to switch radio channels or turn on the lightbar (if I remember correctly)
