strobe supply rating

Post by radiocomms95 »

Hello,
I have a chevy s-10 2wd, and I want to put strobes in the lower turn signal assembly, where the fog lights are on a 4x4 model (next to the turn signals). How many watts can I get by with before I start a meltdown? I'd say the housing is 3'' deep by 5 or 6" wide.

I'm not looking to blind anyone, but I'm not sure what wattage works best, as I've never played with strobes before.

Thanks

90 is good. You just need to avoid tight spaces where there isn't any room to begin with, such as most reverse lights.

You have plently of room.

Not how deep it is, by how long it is, as how tall it is. There has to be a minimum of 1 1/2" all way round, I have found, or the surrounding plastics take it on the chin.

If the lights are out when you leave the station and then come on the second you key up, you know you have enough power.

most whelen strobe sets don't drive more than 20 or 25 to the tubes...give yourself an inch to 2 between plastic & bulb.
