Command series remote problem

I recently recently received a Motorola Command Series remote that I thought would easily be plug and play with my C100 Command Series radio/remote interface box (In lack of a better name). At any rate, I got it and found it to be a mess! There is no RJ-11 jack on anywhere on it, just a hole where wire comes out. So, I opened it up and found 6 wires cut from 6 terminals. They said: DC+ Ground, PTT, Mic-lo, among others.

Here's my question.

How can I hook this up to my GM300? Is this a direct connection to the radio- and the interface console is not needed? If the Remote is just a POS, then I need to find one with an RJ11 Modular jack built onto it so I can wire it to my radio!

BTW, I bought the remote from Panik Electronics. It took 20 days to complete the transaction! They suck...

Hi:

With respects to the C100, I have some more bad
news.

C100's come in 3 groups, Tone remote, DC remote, and
Local.

In general, unless your C100 is a Local Remote, you
will be out of luck unless you have a adaptor between
the Radio and C100.

The Command Series is a nice remote, but its not
a plug and play device.

There is a model number on the bottom...Let us know
and either I or someone else can help.

Looks like Panik sold you a mis-matched set. You appear to have a local C100 remote. They are easy to interface to your 16-pin GM300, no interface box required. Unless you need to run it through leased Telco lines, or locally over 1000ft, there's no need for a tone or DC remote anyway. You can power the unit from the switched V+ off pin 13 of your radio, but I recommend using a separate power 12V, 1-Amp power supply. Wire it up as follows:

Remote----> radio

Ground---> pin 7
PTT--------> pin 3
Mic Hi-----> pin 2
Mic Lo----> pin 7 or on of the other ground terminals in the remote
Speaker Hi----> pin 11
Speaker Lo----> pin 7 or one of the other ground terminals in the remote.

Once you hook Pin 7 to one of the remote ground terminal connections, there are several other terminal connections that are also ground. They may be labelled. If not, just measure for the shorts. Good luck,

The model of the remote is L1473A. I also have the interface box that I bought a few months ago from a different seller. While I can simply link the Remote to the radio, I went ahead anyway and bought one that showed a picture of the radio and RJ11 right in the picture.

The L1473 is a local remote and can be wired directly to the GM300.

Hello,

Looking for assistance in identify specs on a Command Series remote adapter model # L1547A. Is this a tone, DC, or local remote interface? I would like to connect it to a maxtrac via. the 16 pin option plug on the rear of the radio. Any information on the pin out and the remote adapter would be appreciated. I also have the interface cable for the 16 pin connector.
