Whelen Edge Bar Replacement/Upgrade parts...exist?

Post by EOppegaard »

Hey guys...alright so this is a stupid question however are there any current upgrades for a strobe edge bar? I have a mini-edge that I would like to see about upgrading, or at least adding something to it. It currently has the 4 strobes in the corners at an angle, then a dual halogen flasher to the rear. Are there any slide in LED replacements for the Strobes? Or anything else I could play with as far as replacing the halogen flasher.

I do realize that some of these things may be more expensive than just buying a few LED heads and putting them on the vehicle somewhere else. I am just looking around for ideas and may try to pick up some things used.

Thanks again!

Well, you can buy the LED inserts for that bar Eric, but, as you had stated, they will be quite expensive if you go with the factory Whelen units. I would reccomend finding some inexpensive LEDs (such as the ones you can purchase by the inch from Sho-Me) and mount them in the bar. FAR less costly, and probably better looking as well.

As for the flashers, not much there other than maybe putting in a multi pattern headlight flasher to give them different paterns other than just a regular alternating pattern, or, LEDs as well. Drop me a PM if you want pricing on the LEDs by the inch.

What radios do you own?: X9000 thru APX

If its a 9M bar, then you are good for direct replacements. If its a 9000 series bar, I am not sure if the grooves in the bar will support it.

The Corner LED lights aren't cheap, but are nice and you will need a flasher for it.
