It is my understanding that you will require a different (newer) keyloader to load the Astro. I am pretty sure that the T3011DX will do the trick. My T3011CX was upgraded to DX for just this reason.sglass wrote:ok

Additionally, according to http://www.batlabs.com/encrypt.html the T3020AX would be a first revision DES keyloader and not a DES/DES-XL Securenet keyloader and it also states "You will need a D version to program some of the newer radios."

You WILL need a 3xxxDX loader or better for the Astro line. It will still load a key for the older radios. I believe your KVL was upgraded from a BX to a DX when we got our XTS. It will load the older secure chips (analog sabers/spectras) and the newer UCM modules that we have in our new Astro Spectra. Also, be sure you enable the secure option in RSS (everyone forgets), or it will never load a key.
