Data loging output on a centracom II

Post by Radiogeek97 »

folks

out freedome recorder has a loud howl on playback of any radio traffic. What we think has happend is the recorder has been tied into the comparitor instead of the logging output of the console. So what happens is we get all the tones beeps ece when trying to play back any traffic. I have searched and searched for the "as built " specs for our system but have had no luck. Is there a way to determine where the correct data logging port/terminal is on our console? I have easy access to the punch blocks for the console and the recorder, i just need to know where to tie it in on the CCII.

thanks in advance for any help and if i need to supply any frther i can do my best.

CC II Audio Logging

You will need the manual to determine where the recorder should be connected. The pairs on the white 66 punch block are shown in the manual. The recorder could be connected there. If its connected there it will record both the Rx and Tx audio of that channel.

The status tone from a voter is normally a high pitched squeel; often lower in volume than voice traffic.

One thing to watch out for, the Centracom BIM cards have a filter on them that can, in some instances, hide or mask status tone if per chance someone connected a voter to the console's 66 blocks.

Good Luck.
