Any terrestrial microwave groups out there?
Anyone know of any discussion groups out on the internet for microwave radio equipment and systems? Thanks... Curt
Since I didn't find one on the internet, I started one at Yahoo. We'll see how it works. - Curt

Microwave groups...
Why not start by asking ARRL? Or by contacting one of the 10 gHz people listed in QST? They must have web groups dedicated to their kinds of comms.

gee, am I not the only one out there with alot of heavy metal/plumbing with the names Farinon, Microwave Associates, Terracom, and all the other names which they turned in to as we progressed into the future? (i.e. microwave associates = Ma/Com, Farinon = Harris) (my personal favorite: Terracom- the blue boxes favored by telcos throughout the land- the single piece units, not the split ones- came in every concievable freq range- insanely well constructed...funny thing, they all smelled like a dead fish!)

ICOM's D-STAR system includes a 10 GHz microwave radio system designed to serve as a 10 Mb/s ATM backbone to haul high speed Internet service to the D-STAR repeater at its remote mountain top site. I would expect to see lots of discussions on Internet boards on these digital microwave radios as soon as they are offered for sale with the D-STAR repeater and ID-1 mobiles. They are supposed to be priced at about $15,000 per link (including the 1 meter dish antennas and microwave radios).
