We have found hi swr on some antennas ,so
the sar boys must remove the ice when the
CANADA winters ice up the antennas.

We found on BASE antennas
that if the antennas are covered in BLACK
and it is -40 deg. and we have a sun out
that the ice will melt a lot faster.

.
From Canada
we like "FREE" radio manuals

I found that PAM cooking spray adheres very well to outdoor equipment and deters ice buildup. It also stay for a long time when applied in severel coats.

We used to use this under 4x4 trucks to keep mud from clinging and it worked GREAT. Also works on ice as I found out.

This is something I thought about awhile ago...all I did was just take my snow brush and whack the antenna a couple of times when the snow builds up. Seemed to work good for me.
