2003 Suburban & Jotto Desk Console

Post by Wes »

Hi all,

I just got a 2003 Suburban (actually the wife got the Suburban)and I am contemplating using this console.

(you have to scroll down the page to see it on this link)

According to the specs there will be plenty of room for what equipment I have, so I dont fell that will be an issue. I was just curious if anyone else had used one like this before and if so, I would like to hear comments and also some pics would be great.

Thanks in advance for your responses.

Recently in my fire dept, one of my chiefs got this install done. I was very suprised. It looked great, almost as if it came from the factory that way. Good luck with it.

fres904,

Thanks, I am glad to hear that. From the looks of the console on the jottodesk website, It looks really good. We have used several different jottodesk consoles and I am very happy with their products.

apco25, I have read several of your posts on your Suburban and I have looked at your install pics. It is impressive. If this was going to be my vehicle instead of the wife's I would consider removing the factory console like you did and have a full length console. That aint gonna get it with the wife's vehicle........

Anybody got some pics of one of these consoles installed????

Havis also makes a console like the Jotto desk model you list above. The havis model is a constant slope instead of a double like Jotto.

I seriously considered doing something like this back when I first got the truck (I ordered it new in Jan of 03).

Nothing was availlable to use the factory console at that time so I did design a replacement top console out of stainless steel, but mine would have replaced the glove box lid as well. Made a couple samples but never finish it as I obviously completely removed the factory console and went nuts.

If I had less equipment to mount and these had be available at the time I starting the install I'd have gone with either Jotto or Havis.
