Has anyone ever seen a CDM1250 display the message "system reset?"
This radio was just installed in a 2001 Pierce fire engine. Power is coming straight from the main battery junction and pin#10 on the accessory connector is hot and configured properly in RSS. If you turn on the truck's battery, the radio works fine. When you start the engine, the radio displays this message about 80% of the time and sometimes emits a tone also. When doing this, you can sometimes get this radio to reset by pressing "home" or powering the unit off then back on. It only does this when you crank the engine- as if the voltage drop is sending the radio into some "mode." HELP!
Thanks.

here it is, leave hkn4137 on hot + gnd and pin 10 on acc or ign or commonly on fire trucks on the battery switch (scroller)

and in the rss (i always do this) change from on-off & ign to ign only

That's exactly what was going to be done tomorrow! I'll let all know what happens.
Is this a common occurrance on the CDMs?

One local company has a pile of these radios in heavy equipment with a master power cutoff and never has this problem. I guess I'll have to suggest they move the power.

thanks

Check with your local MSS or where you bought it from they should be able to reflash the radio with new firmware to fix the prblem Motorola released the firmware to the MSS on Monday for the cdm 750- 1250 that was a known issue what happens is the radio is confused by when you turn the battery on it comes on then it loses power for a second while the ignition is turned over causing it to fail the self test and say reset meaning reset the radio ie toggle power or the tone which is a power up failure tone

This is just yet another one of those problems that is going to put "M" in the #2 position someday. They better stop building :o! (like the Minitor III and new HT/CDM series)
