Hello all,
My firend is setting up the "500" style repeater. Power supply, rick, 2 cdm750 and duplexer within the cabinet.
He is having a problem with the audio levels. The repeater operates, but here are his problems.
1) Squelch crashes when port/mobile unkeys. Tried adjusting sw2-7 in the rick, no luck.
2) Audio is supper low. Only getting on local mic on the TX radio 2.6kc, when going through the repeater >.2kc dev. Tried adjusting the R24 pot within the rick, but even with it full open only getting about 1.3kc.
Only hints, tips, programming snags????
P.S. The set ups didn't come with a manual for the rick, but the on the pin selection there is a drop down that lets you select a pre defined pin config for the rick tx/rx radios.
Thanks again, Rob

If you are only getting 2.6kc with the mic, then the channel is set for narrow-band 12.5KHz spacing, by the sounds of it. Set it for 25KHz & that will clear up your low audio problem. Make sure to set it for both radios.
For the squelch crashing problem, I would look at how you are keying the tx radio. Are you using a plain CSQ programmed pin from the rx radio, or is it set for 'PL/DPL + CSQ'? Also, is the tx radio set to invert the PL or send the DPL turn-off code to squelch the field radios?
Last but not least, are the field radios set for 'std mute/unmute', or are they set for 'or unmute/and mute' in the options screen? They should be set for the latter, for best squelch operation.
