CM300 Problem with Codeplug

Post by 911medic »

 Today I tried to change some of my accessory pin settings on one of my VHF CM300 radios The CPS read the codeplug fine and after making the change I wrote the new settings to the radio.

All of the channels on the radio started changing rapidly and then the unit went off and the display went blank. Now when you try and turn on the radio it beeps as normal but there is no display and what sounds like unsqulched audio from the speaker when the volume is turned to full.

I have tried to rewrite the saved codeplug to the radio with out any success the CPS gives me an error mesg. that the codeplug is corrupted and advises to call the Motorola Service Center. I have also tried reading the radio using the global tuner with no results.

I was programming the radio through the RJ45 Mic. Connector with CPS Ver. 4. Tonight I downloaded Ver. 5 from Motorola OL and I will try it in the morning but I don’t hold out much hope that it will work.

Does anyone have any idea what happened? Does anyone know of a way of blanking the radio to accept a good codeplug?

Thanks for any help!

You have to send it to the motorola depo. I have come across this with many PR400, CP200, and a few CM300. It is a bad codeplug. If there is another way of fixing it please let me know.
