Nice!

What's the bottom radio below the MCS2K? Is it just an MCS with different keycaps? It almost looks like it only has 4 buttons below the display, instead of 6..

[Edit: Ahah. Micom, I should pay more attention to the thread!]

Overhead mic, looks to be a W3.

Kilgore: Smell that? You smell that?
Lance: What?
Kilgore: Napalm, son. Nothing in the world smells like that.
Kilgore: I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end...

The VHF Astro is the overhead mic the radio is mounted in the overhead. The radio below the MCS 2000 is a Motorola Micom 2e HF radio. I want to install a Motorola Syntor X 9000 low band for 6 meters when I can find one that is clean. I just bought an MCS 2000 800mhz radio to install also.

Very cool, inside view reminds me more of my pilot house boat than a
SUV. Lotsa fiberglass and straight glass.

I use 2 HF antennas my primary antenna is a 12 ft military whip in conjunction with the micom tuner. I normally run the whip at the 9 ft level. I need the fast switching of the auto tuner for ALE operation. The secondary antenna is a High Sierra. This antenna gives maximum preformance plus I can run my 500 watt amplifier which the motorola tuner can not handle.

David,

Very nice install....I have a MICOM and really think its a great HF radio. I have the combination antenna tuner / antenna from Motorola and it works great with the radio. How did you mount your antenna tuner and antenna. Is the other HF antenna that your using a screwdriver type antenna???

Thanks,
Bill, WD9CMS

I mounted the tuner right under the whip The whip is mounted on the roll bar. I can send you a pic if you like. Yes the other antenna is a screw driver.
