Help needed setting up GR300 repeater system

Post by Jay G. »

Hello All. After my "radio guy" couldnt get it to work, I am now turning to the PROFESSIONALS to get it to work!

I have a GR300 case with RICK interface using a UHF M1225 and Low band maxtrac to make a crossband repeater. FOr some reason we cant get it to go both ways, but it works perfectly from Low band to UHF. HELP!!

I realize it's a lot, but can someone please tell me the following:

UHF M1225 what settings should the pins be set to
Low Maxtrac what settings should the pins be set to
RICK what settings should the pins be set to

Thanks in advance to all for the fine help as usual!

What happens if you reverse the RICK connectors to the radios, Does it now work UHF to Low and not Low to UHF.

If so it is the DIP switch settings in the RICK, needs to be set up for bi-directonal repeater.

If not then check the programing in the 1225 and see if pin 8 set for COR/PL detect.

Let us know what you find and give somemore info like does the Low key but with no audio or does it do nothing when UHF receives. Anything else you can tell us about the radio programing would be good.
Cause Motorola said so that's why

I did a UHF to lowband 2 years ago without a RICK using a Desktrac and an SM50. About 8 wires and 2 resistors between them did it just fine.
I chose to not use a controller since this was essentially a patch to lowband and didn't need (or want) any hang time on TX. Worked great and still does. Nothing like talking to a unit 40 miles away on lowband with a portable.
