I got one of these the other day for work, and was wondering what cool stuff I can do with it...

Also, if anyone knows of cool places to get the java apps at for it...

Go to http://www.mot.com/iden Then download the iden update software. You will need a interface cable for the I85 to the computer.. Then update the java apps. I will be getting rid of my I85 as soon as the I55sr's start selling...

I actually discovered that I could easily download them from one of the menus in the web section. However, I'll probably spring for the $30 for the cable.

I was more curious if there were backdoors or anything like that in the phone...

SouthernLinc has a special model of iDEN, the Advanced Feature Phone, this thing can do simplex, but found a service menu, including channel monitor, that's right, you can hear iDEN chatter.
The guess is that most other iDEN units have this menu.
