04 Yukon Denali Strobes for alarm

Post by jfgold »

Hi All, Looking for some ideas on installing hideaway strobes for an alarm I'm having put in this week. I have never done anything like this as my department always buys stuff "completed". I just want a visual for when the alarm goes off so someone actually sees the vehicle. I have a SHO ME 2 strobe unit (which I probably won't use) a Whelen UPS-94C 90 watter and a PSE 460H 60 watter. Looking for some direction and if anyone has any deals on bulbs (new or used) let me know. I am very leary about cutting into the lights on a 54,000 vehicle that is three months old but I guess it's better than losing it to a theif! Thanks in advance for all of your help, this site great!

If you are installing stobes to aftermarket alarm you can use a relay to power the strobes when the siren is activated. what you do is tap into the siren out put of the alarm. you will put this wire to #85 on relay, you need to apply a fused 12v constant to the #30, ground to #86, and #87 will go to the sho-me strobe trigger wire i thinkyellow or blue. when your alarm goes off the siren it is ofcourse screaming also this will trigger the strobes too. but if you mean the factory alarm not quite sure as of now, i may have to do more research. i may have a used sho me kit i can piece together for reasonable price new or used you can call the number on my listing at bottom of this reply. see ya
