HT750 Battery/Charging problem
Hello. With my HT750, the battery will not charge in the charger when the radio is attached. (Indicator blinks red) But, the battery charges fine when in the charger itself. Is there any way to fix this problem? It just gets a tad bit annoying when I have to disconnect the battery from the charger every time I have to charge it.
-Thanks for any help. Ray.

I just tried charging the battery on my friends HT1250, and it charges fine. The battery is Motorola Original, HNN9008A, (Date Code 329) and the radio itself is AAH25KDC9AA2AN, R05.08.07. So, I think it may be the radio. Would this possibly be the internal fuse that's shorted/blown? Although I'm familiar with Motorola Radios, I'm not all to sure on internal fuses and sorts of that.
Thanks, Ray.
Thanks, Ray.
Nope, the radio would be in the charger, with the battery, radio is off, and indicator blinks red, and, according to the manual, blinking red indicator on charger = bad. (Waris Series Charger) BUT, the battery charges fine by itself. I'm not quite sure what the problem would be here [?]
By the way, if this helps, it is charger model: HTN9000B
Charger was bought NIB.

Re: HT750 Battery/Charging problem
Bringing a message back from the dead.
We have a radio with the same problem no matter what battery we put on. Also noticed the centre pin on the radio is shorted to ground. Anybody seen this before and no of a fix? I disassembled the radio and found no water damage or anything suspicious.

Didn't sell initial battery = $0.00 profit
Time + paperwork to exchange it = $50.00 loss.
and it's all to make a potential cutomer happy???

Not to mention the battery warranty is only one year, even when purchased new with a radio.Bat2way wrote: Dealer:

If it costs you $50 in paperwork to warranty a battery, you won't be in business long, anyhow.
More than likely, you will have other batteries going in for warranty that you can add this one to, which should take a minute or two, not an hour or two. the time you spend throwing it on an analyzer is zilch, and you aren't going to pay for the analyzer with a warranty anyhow. You bought that to keep from warrantying good batteries, and as a sales tool to sell new batteries--I hope.
As for goodwill, it does count for something. If you treat your customers and potential customers like dirt, they will eventually go elsewhere. True, business runs on profit, but where does that profit come from? If you drive away your customers with poor service, you have no one to make a buck off of. When someone walks in the door, greet them with a smile and ask them how you can help them. Or just let them wander around wondering if you are interested in doing business today....your choice.
