CDM 1250 Packet?

Post by SmilnDon »

Can the CDM 1250 be used for Amatuer Packet radio? I had a fellow HAM ask me yesterday about this. He has been using amatuer equipment, but it hasnt been as robust and durable as commercial equipment, and wondered if any Motorola equipment would be good for this. The specific use he was looking for was using it on a WinLink2000 node.

For ordinary 1200 baud packet, it should be fine.

OK, here is the question that was posed to me. I have no idea, so I hope someone has the answer here!

----------------------------

"Of the 16 pin connector on the back. Do you know if it has a data pin that taps into the discriminator ckt for recving FSK (vice AFSK). FSK is needed for 9600 baud operations."

----------------------------

Ok, so I guess the question is, can the CDM and/or the Maxtrac do 9600 packet for use in the WinLink2000 system? If so, how do you set it up?
