Siren Speaker location on a 2000 Intrepid

Post by dpd4703 »

Anybody have a better location for mounting a speaker than under the battery just in front of the right whel?

I have been using a typical speaker fron a lightbat w/ a round bell, but when they hit potholes or bumps it gets ripped back and downwards.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Yeah, Intrepids are tricky since they don't have a real grille. On my '97 Intrepid I mounted the speaker upside-down beneath the front edge of the metal bumper. This is behind the flimsy plastic housing that holds the flood lights. There's plenty of room behind that plastic cover, beneath the metal bumper, if you approach from the underside of the car. The plastic cover has two wide horizontal slits that seem to let sound out well enough.
