Siren Speaker Mounting: Ford Crown Vic

Where do you put one of these:

In a 1995-1997 style Crown Vic P71 (police pkg.) ?

I don't see where or how it will fit behind the grille. Not easy to try under the bumper as the cover wraps underneath and attaches to the car.

Hey Adam, ever notice that's why you never heard KSP until they were right on top of you. Not much room at all for any speaker. Maybe on the those Gall's thin speaker will fit. Good Luck.

Yes.. I know a guy who had his all hoopty-mounted in his grille like that and it was not impressive.

But I have a friend who has one of those right angle cones and it didnt sound very loud either.

Another friend today, who's interested in my old Dietz Lightbar said he might have a slim speaker soon so I will use that if he can get it. He said that once they went to the aero-style 92-97 vics they had to re-do all of their cars to those slim speakers because there was no good place to mount them.

I have done several of those. Go to your local industrial electrical supply store, (not Home Depot), and get a Unistrut (brand name) bracket that looks like an "L" with four holes in it. I think the part number is P1325.
Remove the rearmost mounting bolt for the bumper shock strut, bolt the bracket on with this bolt, with it hanging down. Then invert your speaker and bolt it to the bracket. You can turn the speaker to one side a bit so it points out the lower grill opening. This works on either side and you can actually mount two speakers this way, one per side. I have some '97 and some '95 models still running around with this mount, so durability is not a problem. Also, don't forget to orient the drain hole on your driver so it is towards the bottom.
I have also used this bracket to mount the same type speaker in the grill of newer Vics and the new style Durango. Hope this helps.

Well heres a idea you can try an it works. We took that exact siren an remote mounted the cone an bell. how do you do that do you ask. vacuum hose. I have a 99 dodge dakota absolutely no room in the front grill. but theirs about 4inchsx4inchs spare room were we could stick the cone. we took about 1 foot of vacuum hose the same diameter of the cone fit it over the siren driver an used metal hose clamps to secure the hose to the driver then put the hose through a metal bracket then the cone screwed into the other end of the hose an sealed it with some silicone to hold it tite. then mounted the cone were the opening was by the grill. its didn't loose any sound punch at all. just as loud. I coudn't believe it actually worked. Just a idea. mounted the driver in the engine compartment.

You can mount it flat against the radiator support up top face the speaker down. You need to trim the speaker bowl, it's plastic it's easy to do. And you need to remove a little bit of the header panel so the driver will fit. Dont' forget to drill some holes in the cone for the water to run out. I used to do cruiser swaps and installs for years, did hundreds like this.
