MTR2000 Power Amp help

Post by Vercomm »

Just wondering if anybody has a written procudre for turning up the power on a 40watt VHF MTR2000. If you could email or fax it to me that would be a great big help. Please email me with any help, if you have a copy from a manual and could fax it that would be awesome too!! I already have Software and cable (have manual 68P81096E20-G, but doesn't explain). Help would be much appreciated. Please email: [email protected]

Thanks,

Jamie

As far as I know, you cannot raise the max rated power for the MTR2000 at all. The unit is factory aligned for it's rated maximum power, and you cannot change it. You can lower the power in the channel information screen, but you cannot raise it beyond what it's rated for. Even if you change the P.A., you have to enter the hex digits which are in place on a sticker on the module, and the station uses those values to auto calibrate itself to the rated power output.

Even if you COULD raise it, you'd get only several watts before developing heat problems. With this small power gain, you'd have no performance increase realistically.
