Questions about an edge 9000 lightbar

Post by beaujo_fire »

I have received a edge 9000 lightbar for free that is in pretty good shape. Currently the bar has the four strobe tubes mounted at the four corners plus it has two taken down lights in the front and that is it.

I am just curious what can be added or modified on this lightbar. I will probably hunt down any parts for mods on here and ebay.

Right now the bar is all yellow and red lenses (it use to be on a traffic signal repair truck).

So can anyone give me suggestions idea etc.. Thanks.

There are modules for sale, new and used you can add in flashers.. steady burn lights, even extra strobes. You would probably have to buy an extra or upgrade the power supply on it though. For some reason Edge power supplies cost more than regular ones?

well sorry.. I tried to show you this ebay auction selling 4 strobe modules for the edge but ebay is.. out of order.

What you can add depends on how old the bar is which dictates what it has in it now. If I had to guess, I'd say it has the the Turb6Hal corner module which has the coner strobe and the halogen in one part. The easiest way to add inboard strobes is with the Turb6Kit strobe. It a 6" strobe that simply snaps or slides into the slide-channel. You might need to cut some of the plastic spacers if it has them.

If you have a newer 6-Outlet power supply, you can add two more strobes. If you want more, you'll need another power supply. If you have an older 4-Outlet power supply, you'll need another power supply regardless.

eBay at it's finest:
Me: "What exactly is a 900Mhz UHF CB?"
Them: "A very nice CB at 900Mhz speed!"
