Rural county communications needs consulting contract

Post by BikeFireBill »

Hi,
Hope I don't get into trouble with the M powers that be on this BB but our semi-rural New Mexico county (3,700 sq. mi./100,000 people) wants to have a professional communications group (one not pushing a particular line of products) come in, review existing systems/freqs./etc. and give recommendations on keeping systems the same and upgrading/updating within that or changing our existing systems countywide for better coverage. This consulting contract will be awarded immediately to the most qualified and best bidder. Any ideas on who could or would do this? We are located between Albuquerque and Santa Fe. Please try to reply ASAP. Thanks.

Check your private mail. This could end up being somewhat sticky if a company makes a pitch at you here on the board.

You ask some good questions and there are a number of good companies that probably can hep you.

Jim202,

Thanks for the caution and appreciate the private emails from those already. Please keep them coming if possible.

I'm not looking to get pitched on the board. No way it would make sense to "buy" that way. I'm just looking for recommendations on how to go about it and with whom and have already gotten some good info.

By saying the contract would be awarded immediately I wanted to get the word out this is not a hunting expedition--it's a real job that will happen right away.
