cdm 1550ls+
The cdm 1550ls+ comes in ltr and 160modes(conventional) with mdc1200.I have one in my pov.
It can be confusing.
The original CMD1550 had 128 channel capability with full MDC options.
Then, Motorola came out with the CDM1550ls...now the radio could do LTR, but it only had 16 conventional channels (you could put in 18 if you didn't have any LTR systems in it) with no conventional MDC capability!
So, they came out with the CDM1550ls+...it was a big deal when they released it, because they trumpeted the fact it added up to 160 conventional channels, with full MDC options in conventional. Sweet...but you had to read the fine print. The unit came in two models...the basic "5AN" model which was essentially the same as the CDM1550ls...and the deluxe "6AN" model which gave you everything but the kitchen sink.
To make matters even more confusing, the corresponding portable model (HT1250ls+) didn't correspond with the model numbers. "5AN" and "6AN" are both basic limited channel/no MDC models, with "7AN" and "9AN" being the deluxe versions (the lower number being the limited keypad version, the higher number being the full keypad version).

No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...however an extraordinarily large number of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.
