You wanna hear something funny? I live in the tri-state area of West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio... We have a Pike County, and a Wayne County, and usually when something goes wrong, blows up, catches fire, or just straight out looks like $hit, we blame it on Wayne County and Pike County'ers....

Maybe that was the government's idea, to make a few counties be the ones we blame everything on, and the way to keep track of them would be to give them the same names....

nice...that's some antique equipment in there! Vertex Standard radio....bc350a...that galls "thing". :-) word to the wise? downsample your images to 800x600 rather than bigass x bigass and your bandwidth won't get hosed hosting those MONSTERS.

Believe it or not, this was an Orange County instal at it's birth (or abortion from the way I see it)

First Things First: Way awesome Clean up on that jacked up CV! Once Upon a time, while Working on a patrol Car Install for an unnamed Security Company here in Salt Lake, i opened the hood to work on their PA speaker.......only to find that the Headlight Flasher had been wired WITH AC LAMP CORD!!!!!! This is what happens when we let Joe Bob's brother's Cousin's kid outfit the Patrol Cars while he drinks a beer and listens to Buttrock on his lawn!

Damn! I can't post pictures of my install on my Grand Marq, as it ISN'T a sucky job - aux battery for the extra gear, radios NOT mouted to the gas tank, control heads NOT duct-taped (or better still, DUCK-taped) to the dash.

You'd be surprised. A friend who does install work (and shall remain nameless) had several cars to redo for a PD. For the original install, another installer had screwed a piece of plywood across the tray where the spare normally sits in the CV. For those of you who know these vehicles, you know the gas tank is directly underneath there.

As he began undoing the boards, he smelled raw gas. Their answer? Put some JB Weld in the holes. No joke.

I still wonder how many of the "exploding CVs" can be blamed on sheet metal screws through the gas tank (in the event of a collision, the screws would tear large gashes in the tank, giving a much better chance of a fuel leak.)

That's why I like those trays the bolt in under the rear deck. They may be a little pricey, but they make it look a little better, keep equipment out of the way to make more room for storage, and they're easier on the back when you bend into the trunk to work on something.

KABOOM! Gastank in rear of CV+ Cornhole T/A ( Rear end Traffic Accident)=bad deal screw or not.
