Help!!

Hellow everyone.
i have got 2 cdm1550ls and a hln3333b rick. i wanted to use this as a temp repeater incase of a disaster again. the equipment was givin to us with no manuals and i cant find anything around as to how its set up. So i have come here to the only place i can ever find any help.

Here are the 'default' S2 dipswitch settings for the RICK from the GR300/500 manual:

The repeater is unidirectional: S2-1 OFF

The RX radio keys the TX radio with the pin 8 "COR" signal: S2-2 OFF and S2-3 ON

No remote control is used: S2-4 OFF

The radio uses normal, muted audio from the receiver: S2-5 OFF and S2-6 ON

"COR" operation is used: S2-7 OFF

This is a unidirectional repeater: S2-8 OFF and S2-9 OFF

You desire a 1.5 second drop out delay: S2-10 ON and S2-11 OFF

Your configuration is standard: S2-12 OFF

R23 adjusts the deviation of the TX radio.

In the CDM radio CPS, set Pin 8 as "CSQ Detect" (with PL/DPL, if used) active LOW. Also, in the 'accessory configuration' tab, set 'RX Audio Type' to "filtered audio".

Assuming you have the standard 16-pin RICK cables, you should be ready to plug & play once the above is set.

ok i got the setup the way you stated but the rick wont power up. When i take it back to the gm300 i find it powers up no problem

The R.I.C.K. gets its power from the receiver jack, J5, pin 13. So it must be connected to a radio that's turned on and properly wired to that connector in order for it to work at all.

That is true, but there is a fuse in that line that is sometimes blown. You can replace it (not easy) or you can bypass it by applying B+ (fused) to Pin 13 of J4 (the accessory connector).

If the R.I.C.K. powers up when hooked to a radio, as stated above, then I'd submit that the fuse is NOT blown.
