Nice, but be aware of the cellphone rules in your state. If handheld cellphone use is illegal while driving, I see you running into lots of problems. The cops aren't going to want to hear some technicality that it's a radio and not a phone, and neither is the judge - all of whom receive their salary from the fines you'll be paying.

As a funny note, maybe a bit hamsexy, back in the early 80s I used a handset too. Since this was before cellphones and when only rich folks had car phones, I got some "interesting" looks from folks.

If said Spectra was hooked to a mag-mount then that would qualify as hamsexy I think.

HA! Don't knock'em, those things are great. Most two way radios in europe still utilize them in LE.

But yes, the last time I saw them in use was for medical consults in the back of an ambulance...

i used to have one on my low band maratrac on 52.525 it worked good for band opening could hear alot better
