2004 Impala (non police) install help!

Post by bellersley »

Hi there. A friend of mine wants to install an airhorn/PA in his 2004 "Civilian" Impala. We've got the amplifier box and an S-100S 100W siren speaker.

Problem is, I can't find a decent mounting area for it. I've looked at all the popular speaker makes and they all seem to mount in the right area. This speaker has a standard "universal" mount on it, but I can't seem to make it fit.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Not sure what you are asking here, the mounting of the speaker? When we recently put in the Fed Sig DynaMax Speaker right behind the grill. I would think that (if your speaker is flat) you could bolt it right to the front cross member of the frame, may have to redrill the mounting home depending on clearance to make the speaker fight as tight against the frame as possible. Thats what we did and it works pretty well!

I know two SA314P's from Whelen will fit but honestly, I've never looked to see where. I'll try to look tommorow.

eBay at it's finest:
Me: "What exactly is a 900Mhz UHF CB?"
Them: "A very nice CB at 900Mhz speed!"
