Anyone happen to have figured out the password for the minitor PPS software?

Lets you really make a mess of things. Enable / disable features, shift the band-split or modify the timing until it quits altogether. It also lets you change the serial number or increase / decrease the warranty. My guess is that decrease to zero only applies here.

Step by step...

First read the pager or an archive for one.
Next press the “Key” symbol and enter the name of the capital city of Taiwan in the provided box, spelled exactly as in my original post’s title.
Now the little “Safe” symbol should become visible.
That is all.

What version of software are we talking about here?
My Minitor V software version 1.0.0 does not have the "lock" icon.

I think that my Min 3 and Min 4 software is DOS based.
What was the last rev level in the Windows version of the 3 and 4 software?

Hey, Not sure if I'm missing something here, or just tired, but I can't seem to locate this "original post"

Anyone?

Bandsplit again.

Post by gerrycah »

Greetings all, Ok, I have searched alot and read alot.

The way I understand this, you can change the bandsplit as long as it is in the same band, correct?? ie: VHF HI. So I am trying to change the band split from 159-166.9999Mhz to 151 - 158.999Mhz. I tried the Hex code stuff, obviously out of my league, I'll keep trying to learn though. I now have the windowsPPS version. I changed the bandsplit and put the freq I want in there (154.770) However, the pager doesn't receive. Is there something I am missing or is the changing of bandsplits a hardware issue??? In which case this pager will be useless... :-? Thanks ahead of time, and I really didn't want to ask.....I did find one post that said its a hardware issue, but the rest of the posts seem to contridict that..

Oh yeah, we are talking Minitor III here.

Minitor band splits are HARDWARE determined. Hex edits can bring you to SLIGHTLY higher or lower freqs OR different features but NOT different ranges.

Try this:
Open MinitorPPS.exe
Search Hex: 546169706569
Replace the hex to 000000000000 (all zeros)
Save and restart the program
Load the archive (or read a pager)
Now press the key button, when asked for the password, press enter.

Still no good. I think my install is bad, when installing from the original cd, I got missing file minitorpps.chf so I ignored it.

Anyone know a valid place to obtain it since its free from motorola now? The V software wont do 3/4.

So to get the 2 channel all I have to do is click the drop down box and select 2- channel? Or do I have to do more than that?
