Yes, I had the installed dinamax

Post by miguel171 »

Yes, I had the installed dinamax behind, but the sound was low, for this reason I placed it front.

I am thinking to change my car, possibly in a future do an installation of better quality.

wow, that is a LOT of lumens. If you are putting in a hardmount radio antenna, you might as well just skip the glass mount 800 and put in a real multiband scanner antenna...if you're gonna do one...:-)

my reasons

Post by miguel171 »

I am a volunteer of emergency services, and use my car in many occasions, crash in dark highways, rain... etc.

Some drivers in my country though they see an accident do not reduce the speed, and drunk drivers who do not see the traditional emergency lights. (rotator beacons)

And also the police and the local fire dept. have very basic lights in yours vehicles, and some officials do not worry in active your lightbars in an accident :(

For this reason I think to install all these lights. They are not so many lights if you think it well, I have seen in this one and other forums cars that look like discotheques in comparison to my project.

What makes you think drunks see LEDs better then rotating lights...? I can show you plenty of pictures of DWIs who hit trucks and squads with LEDS... And speeding drivers don't slow down just cuz you have extra warning power. I suspect drivers go by just as fast past my two little TIR3s to the rear as they do for the two little strobes on the back of the state trooper down the road fro mme.

It looks like you just stuck lights randomly on your windshield.

Drivers speeding by...

I am living proof that people, regardless of where you are at don't give a rats %#$ about what kind of lighting you have. My crusier has a Whelen Edge 9M series, 8 strobe bar with rear flashers. Bar is brand new, so the lenses are nice and clear and the reflectors are as the same. Crusier also has a blo-me LED arrowstic in the rear deck, Plenty o'lights for getting attention. I still got hit by a passing SUV that didn't yield, while I was helping some folks out. The moron even drove into the shoulder...what's that tell ya?

You could have enough lighting to be seen from Mars, and people will still zing by your scenes at ludicrous speed. We lost a trooper and a paramedic here not long ago for those very things. Lights don't replace ears, eyes, and awareness.

To get off my soapbox, I agree, it looks like the front lights are just put wherever, and the wiring haning down is frightening...good choices of warning equipment, I think , just could donate a bit more time to the placement of the lights and wiring. Definately move the siren speaker...

I'd have to agree...

A good lighting setup is important, but it's just as important (if not more so) that a car is positioned in the correct manner, and that the lighting is used correctly. Otherwise, you'd basically have a UFO looking car sitting in the middle of the road, drawing attention. Yet another thing for today's busy (and equally mindless / stupid) drivers to deal with.

Sometimes it's better to simply shed all the lights and go with your parking or hazard lights. Either way, don't block the road unless you have to.

My two cents as well.

Thank you for your commentaries, in my 17 years of volunteer I know that the lights do not help if one does not take care of the unit of a crash parking it surely... Common sense and protection
