Eur-Am antennas ?

Post by RadioSouth »

I saw a few of these on Public Work trucks and gave one a try. Features I like is they use a thin black masts on their 1/4 wave antenna's (barely visible and more forgiving to the mount if you bend one over) also they have a fully shielded mount to reduce RF in the vehicle and both ends of the cable assemblies use FME connectors, one matches up with the mounting base and you use an adapter on the other end to match your radio so no connectors to install either. Sounds good so far, right ?
Well, 1st heavy rain and my carpets soaked. I've installed a few dozen
A/S and Motorola NMO's and this is the 1st time I had a leak. Anyone else using these ? I see A/S also offers a shielded NMO mount/cable system like these (KSM766) anyone have any comments on them ?
