we have alot of cp200 uhf radio's that are coming back to the shop that, you turn the radio on no beep just a solid amber light, turn the radio off and the light still remains, no tx or rx the only way to get rid of it is to remove the battery. I was wondering if anyone knew what has been causing this problem or any ideas on how to fix this problem......................
regards,
john

Re: cp200 amber light
i also have this problem, even after upgrade the red light is keep on blinking. no Rx but with TX?? please help
Re: cp200 amber light
Actually, your problem isn't the same. A constant blinking red light means your radio thinks there is constant receiver activity, even though there isn't. This is why you have TX but no RX...there is a problem with your receiver circuitry. Firmware upgrades will not help you.cab wrote:i also have this problem, even after upgrade the red light is keep on blinking. no Rx but with TX?? please help
Johnny on the other hand, I would suspect codeplug corruption. You should get the latest CPS (5.12) as it has an 'auto recovery' feature which detects & attempts to repair codeplug corruption. Sometimes it even works! If it doesn't, quite often a firmware upgrade will do the trick. You may need to start the firmware update process with a known good identical model radio, and swap the defective unit in when it's time to bootstrap the radio.
