Post by KitN1MCC »

well a Freind of mine picked up a 98 GMC k2500 With a 6.5 L Diesel

it did have the roof smashed by a tree. but he is a body guy and gonna fix it not the problem

The pervius owner had a Remote starter/keyless entry/Alarm

What a hack job on the install. it was a mess

the truck also had a mini edege on the Back rack and the was smashed by the tree.

also the owner installed a tail light flasher under the hood and that was hack city

what a mess i wish the Alarm/Remote starter guys would get with the program

I had a 1996 Chrysler van with a remote starter added too - another hack job. Something finally quit and it cost me several hundred dollars to have a Chrysler dealer sort the mess out and get the van running again.

I'm with you, gotta do something about these aftermarket hack shops. Just dunno what yet - something legal anyway!

take it easy on us remote start installers!!!

Post by 1STOPCOPSHOP »

please let's not be so harsh to us remote start installers.
I have been installing these things since 1991 and if it's done right it will work a long time and it should always look oem. trust me I have seen my share of hack jobs on everything from car radios to 2 way radios. I think most of the hacks I fixed were the $49.99 wal-mart remote start purchaser that had his buddy install it. So point is mostly stated in my moto I posted at bottom of my reply. just always remember YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! :D :D :D
"IT'S UNWISE TO PAY TOO MUCH, IT'S WORSE TO PAY TOO LITTLE. WHEN YOU PAY TOO MUCH YOU LOSE LITTLE MONEY-THAT IS ALL. WHEN YOU PAY TOO LITTLE, YOU SOMETIMES LOSE EVERYTHING. BECAUSE WHAT YOU BOUGHT WAS INCAPABLE OF DOING THE THING IT WAS BOUGHT TO DO"
