Motorola "Alpha-Bravo" Pager info

Post by Hoseman292 »

Gents,

Motorola once made a small alphanumeric pager in the early 90's called the "Alpha Bravo". My questions about this pager are:

1. Did the pagers use GOLAY or POCSAG? BAUD rate?

2. Was the radio frequency crystal controlled or synthesized?

3. Will the programming cradle (NLN3512) work with the universal pager RIB?

4. Were they ever available in 900 MHz POCSAG 1200 BAUD?

5. Know anyone that still programs them?

As always,
THANKS IN ADVANCE Tim

Off the top of my head:
1: Either GSC or 512 Pocsag
2: Crystal
3: The bravo Alpha cradle has a built in interface. It has a DB25 on the back, as well as a power jack for 9-12VDC.
4: Not that I know of.
5: Yes, I can. It uses DOS software and the cradle.

While on this topic. If anybody knows where I can find one of these in good condition, I have been looking to buy one. It will have to be VHF (152.XXX) range.

I carried one many, many years ago and thought they were great pagers. I still have to check with my local paging provider to see if they can support this unit, though.

Sure. e-mail me your mailing address and I'll send you a few in great condition. They're on 157 MHz.
