Van radio install

Hello - does anyone have a picture of a radio console install in a van.

We just received a new Ford E-series cargo van and need to install about 3 radios in it along with siren and light control.

I looked thru Troy and Gamber & Johnsons website , but none of them have a console for a van.

Back during the winter we did a Van for an FD and hit the same problem. we just built a box up inbetween the seats. Used the seat bolts to secure it, then used a small Jotto Desk console mounted on top for the equipment. Im sure there are handful of other ways to do this for alot more money, however this was fast and fairly in-expensive and worked. The box then became a great place for the equipment to be mounted down and out of the way. We have finished off a few ambulances that came from the manufacturer with a real nice molded plastic unit but the depts spent lots-O-cash to get them. Heres a link to a few pics of ours. nothing fancy and some re-used equiment.

I did a van a while back for one of the local USAR guys. I reused his exisiting Troy console & had a local fabrication shop make up a pedastal.

The pedastal was slightly smaller then the footprint of the Troy console and sat on a bracket that spanned the inboard seat bolt holes. The owner later installed a big Optima battery in the pedastal for the radio gear.

If you are interested, I can dig out the autocadd file of the pedastal itself. The mounting bracket you would customize to the new van.
