mixed mode Quantars with desksets - Need Help

Post by Dover IT »

We are running UHF Quantars in mixed mode and we want to use tone remote desksets to control the station. in adddition to the console. We want the desksets to transmit on the analog side of the system. Looking in the RSS, it looks like the only way to do it is to set the base station to analog mode only...
Any help/input would be appreciated.

That is where the DIU comes into the picture. The mixed mode Quantar connects to the DIU, either directly [V.24] or remotely [4-wire line w/ Astro modems]. Your desksets connect to the console side of the DIU. With a little magic DIU programming you can make the system do whatever you want.

Search the archives for topics related to the DIU - there is plenty of good background info available here.
