Sprectra RSS programming problem

Post by jwb8734 »

Hello
I am trying to program a Spectra with R6.00.05 it says
This version RSS is not supported with this radio please call /\/\oto National Sales. I called /\/\ and thet say this is the newest RSS and were clueless about the error. A friend of mine says use an older version. I do not have anything older.

Any help would be great.

Good Question. Have not looked at it yet. I was told the order info is under the case. I'll take a look.

It is the latest RSS for the Spectra. Perhaps you have an SP radio? Sure it's not an Astro or Spectra E?

I've seen this error myself before. I had to use an older version of lab, but I can't recall off hand the version. I'll post it as soon as I find it.

OK, your RSS version is most likely too new for the MLM.

I hope I can find an older RSS. But /\/\oto says it should work on all versions. Everyone I know has 6.00.05

I tried Lab and that wouldnt work either.

Yup, it all sounds familiar. Only an old version of lab (I haven't found it yet to give you the number) will read it.

I have 5.03.00 and it has read MLMs in the 3 range, but I can't remember if the version was 3.11.

Hope this helps.

I have that version also and nothing. I will try it again.

Would it be a problem if it's Trunk? I dont know the system key that it was on.

That sounds right. make sure your voltage to the radio and the RIB are staying constant, other than that I don't know what will help...

My power supply is ok and my rib is powerd by a fresh battery out of the package. Version 5 still gives the same error. I know this radio can be programmed. The orig prog was from Cleavland, OH area and has been reprogrammed but have now way to find out who prog it and what version.

What about an MLM upgrade?

Of course at that point, it may be time for a new radio.

I am going to try a MOTO Rib and Cable but do not think it's that. Upgrading the MLM would kinda be silly. I have a friend looking for the older RSS in his RSS computers but not sure how much luck I will have.

I had the same problem the other day, was doing some moflag tweaks. set one of the bits wrong and made it think it was a RR model even thou the M/N and S/N were right. tried many versions of software but all gave the same error as above. the only way to get it back was to clone the original CP back into it using lab. r06.00.05. Has the radio been hacked before you received it?

As far as MLM vs SW versions i've used the latest spectra sw works on 2.09 - 6.16 mlms
