MII Wall Wart - need cheap source

Post by N2DFire »

Subject pretty much sums it up.
I have a few good charging bases but all the wall wart cords have shorts in them. Looking for a good cheap replacment w/o having to "Go Moto".
All help appreciated.

Thanks.

Since the Minitor II charger is UL approved as an assembly, you really should not use anything else but the Minitor II transformer from Motorola. I hate to see the fire fighters home to go up in smoke because of a faulty pager charger.

Minitor II charger transformer part number and price from Motorola, 2562601A03 for about $18.00US each.
It needs to be soldered in keeping the correct polarity, since the charger base doesn't use a plug.

All the M II bases I have use a plug to the power supply - you sure you're not thinking about the original "brick" Minitor ?

The difference is early version chargers and late version chargers.

My Minitor II charger has the wires going right into the charger, no plug.

There are different bases - there are some that are drop in chargers (all of which I think have permanently connected cords, and others which are slide in chargers that have a speaker, external amplifer, (din connector on some for trigger), etc.

The "amplified bases" that have the speaker et all have a wall wart with cord. Drop ins don't seem to.

There are two different style drop-in chargers.

(eBay link for picture purposes only - if someone has a better source for pictures of the old style chargers, I will gladly edit the post. I Google'd but couldn't find anything but the newer charger.)

This is the older style charger and has a permanent connected AC adapter.

This is the newer style charger and has an AC adapter that disconnects from the charging base.
