I can help you do this. First you must tell me What type of repeater you have, and what kind of computer(s) you have to dedicate to the project. it will take 1. It will need 2 if you want a dedicated terminal. Also list budgetary constraints. Internet connection speed at the repeater site is important as well.

the repeater is a msf5000 uhf. internet/lan connection is made by canopy bridges at 10mbps. i already have alarm and IP surveilance camera on this link and it works great with a mediatrix phone link. i also have a couple of computer loose here, maybe i can dedicate one. most of the computer/server are running freebsd and XP pro.

Carl,
The facility I am working at uses an RS232 to Ethernet adapator for the serial port lab equipment, with an identical adaptor on the terminal server.

Take a look at http://www.lantronix.com/device-network ... ds-10.html it might do what you want if your repeater /tone panel can be locally programmed via RS-232

Ok, so you have all of the computer and internet parts needed. In fact they are optimal. Do you have the RSS for MSF5000? Do you have a RIB box and the proper cable as well? This will also be needed. After that you are pretty much all set to begin putting things together in a Rube Goldberg sort of way.

All you have to do is use windows terminal services and log into the computer remotely that is at the MSF connected to it via RIB, cable and has RSS. Use MoSlo. If you have this very little $ has to be spent other than the time to hook it all up. Hope this helps.
