What RSS is used on these things? I see the two "holes" under the battery where you connect, now does anyone know which one is what?
Oh, you guys were right- these things really are a piece of crap. One of the local cops bought one, so I STILL get stuck with it in my hands.

They don't use RSS.
With the radio off, hold down the TX key,
and turn the radio on. A CG voice will come
thru the speaker and say "Frequency one" or two or whatever. This number corresponds to a list in the owner's manual. When you get to a number you want, press the monitor key. The voice will now say, "Code one" or whichever code is programmed. This is the TPL code, step through the codes with the PTT switch. When done, press the monitor switch again.
Radios are VHF or UHF, itinerant and GMRS freqs, tone PL only. No real alignment or service available, if they quit, send them to Rockford.
And yes, they are cheap, low-tier radios not suited for anything other than the mall or a hike.
